BOISE -- The Rocky Mountain baseball won their 10th straight game on Thursday night, knocking off Capital, 8-3.
Mason Smith led the offensive charge for the Grizzlies, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. On the season, the Utah-bound centerfielder is hitting an even .500, with a team-high 27 RBI.
On the mound, senior right-hander Josh Gasser ran his record to 5-0. Gasser tossed a complete game against Capital, while allowing just two earned runs and striking out five.
The Grizzlies entered the evening with just a 1.5 game lead over the Eagles in the 5A SIC standings. With the win, Rocky Mountain improves to 13-and-1 overall on the season, including 9-and-1 in league play.
The Griz and Eagles will play each other once again on Friday. First pitch will take place a 6:00 p.m. at Capital High
