BOISE--  The Boise Hawks might have to change their name to the “Cardiac Kids.”  For the third straight night, the Hawks (9-8) came from behind late to beat the Eugene Emeralds, 6-5, to complete a home-series sweep, their first since July of 2012.

Trailing 5-3 in the eighth inning, the Hawks got a lead-off single from Yasiel Balaguert to start the rally.  A walk to Jacob Rogers advanced Balaguert to second, and Rony Rodriguez wasted no time scoring him from there.  Rodriguez chipped an RBI double down the left field line, scoring Balaguert and cutting the lead to one.  Jordan Hankins gave the Hawks the lead for good when he roped a single to right, scoring two runners to give Boise a 6-5 lead.

The Emeralds didn’t go quietly into the night though.  With two outs, Eugene managed to load the bases and get the tying run just 90 feet from the plate.  Matt Iannazzo was brought in from the bullpen, and managed to induce a groundball to the shortstop to end the game on a fielder’s choice.

The Hawks will now go on the road for three days to face Salem-Keizer.  Boise will return home on Thursday, July 4, to host the Tri-City Dust Devils.
