BOISE -- The Boise Hawks snapped a two game skid with a 5-1 victory over Salem-Keizer at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday night.
Boise starting pitcher James Pugliese improved to 2-0 on the season by tossing five innings and only allowing one run while striking out four.
On offense, Yasiel Balaguert and Jose Dore each had two RBI. Balaguart initially put the Hawks on the board with a two-run single in the fourth. Dore pushed another run across later in the inning with a sacrifice fly to center field.
Boise added insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings when Dore connected for a two-out RBI double, before Lance Rymel scored on a wild pitch.
The Hawks move to 3-3 on the young season. They now hit the road for a five-game series in Spokane, which starts on Thursday at 7:35 p.m. (MT).
