The Mountain West Conference released its 2012-13 Men's Basketball Preseason Poll on Monday, and Boise State is not expected to to do well in the eyes of the media.  The Broncos were ranked eighth in the poll, ahead of only one team.

Boise State received 43 votes, six fewer than seventh-place Fresno State.  San Diego State edged out UNLV as the preseason favorite, and New Mexico is expected to finish in third place.

In his first two seasons as head coach of the Broncos, Leon Rice and his teams have finished better than they were expected to in the preseason polls.  The Broncos finished second in the WAC after being predicted to finish sixth in 2010-11.  In their inaugural season in the Mountain West last year, the Broncos were expected to finish eighth, and the team tied for seventh.
