RENO, NV-- The Boise State men’s basketball team ended a two-game losing streak on Tuesday, defeating Nevada, 74-65. Derrick Marks led the Broncos (12-5, 2-2) with 21 points, while Anthony Drmic added 17 points.
Boise State jumped out to a seven-point halftime lead, but the game was far from over. Nevada fought back and tied the game four times in the second half, and even took a brief lead. But the Broncos turned it on after thanks to hot shooting. Boise State hit five three-pointers in the second half and pulled away for the win.
Ryan Watkins recorded his sixth career double-double, scoring 11 points and hauling in 11 rebounds.
In all, four Broncos scored in double figures on the night.
Defensively, Boise State limited Nevada’s Deonte Burton to just seven points. Burton had been averaging 21.8 points per game.
The win was Boise State’s fourth Mountain West Conference road victory since joining the conference in 2011.
The Broncos will host Utah State (11-4, 1-2) on Saturday. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m.
