BOISE-- The Boise State men’s basketball team started its Mountain West Conference campaign off in the right way on Saturday with a seven-point win over Fresno State.  But now things get tricky for the Broncos.  Boise State (11-3, 1-0) will now go on the road to take on No. 13 San Diego State (12-1, 1-0) on Wednesday.

The Aztecs are coming off a four-point victory at No. 16 Kansas on Sunday.  Boise State head coach Leon Rice noticed the win, and credited much of the victory to a strong defensive effort by SDSU.

“Kansas shot 29 percent at home against them, which is just unbelievable,” Rice said Monday.  “You're talking about Kansas, at home.”

San Diego State’s lone loss of the season came on the road at Arizona, then ranked sixth in the country, back in November.

Rice knows that his Broncos will be in for a battle on Wednesday, and commented that this could be one of the best teams that Boise State will face all year.

“They're just so long, so athletic, and it looks like they take so much pride in what they're doing.”

The Broncos take on the Aztecs in San Diego on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. (MT).  The game will be televised by ESPNU.
