5A District Baseball: Mavs and Mustangs advances, Lions and Warriors still alive

BOISE -- The 5A District III baseball playoffs continued on Wednesday, with both Eagle High School and Mountain View High School advancing to the state tournament.

After the Mustangs were upset by Timberline on Tuesday, the tournament's No. 2 seed bounced back to beat Borah 12-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Rocky Mountain High School.

As for the Mavs, they outlasted Meridian, 13-9, in a game that lasted nearly three hours.

The Lions and Warriors will now play on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in a loser-out contest.  The winner will advance to the state play-in game in Twins Falls on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

5A District III Tournament
Eliminated: Boise, Capital, Centennial* and Vallivue*
Still Alive: Borah and Meridian
State Bound: Eagle, Mountain View, Rocky Mountain and Timbeline

*Did not qualify for districts
