BOISE-- The Las Vegas Wranglers showed the Idaho Steelheads why they were the second best team in the ECHL on Friday, lighting the lamp five times en route to a 5-1 win over Idaho.
The home team played nearly seven minutes of the first period down a man or two due to penalties. The advantage resulted in a 2-0 lead for Las Vegas going into the first intermission. The Wranglers kept that momentum going in the second period, scoring two more goals while keeping Idaho off the board.
The Steelheads finally found the net in the third thanks to a Derek LeBlanc re-direct goal, but the damage had already been done.
Both teams will face off again on Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena.
