BOISE-- The Idaho Steelheads couldn't keep their hot streak going on Wednesday. After leading for most of the game, the Steelheads let the Ontario Reign tie the game to force overtime, and fell to the Reign 4-3 in the extra period.
Idaho got out to a hot start when Chad Nehring knocked in a rebound on a break away in the first period. But the Reign tied it in the second period. Idaho responded quickly though, and got the lead again on a Marty Flichel power play goal. Michael Neal put the home team on top in the third period, but the Reign fought back and managed to tie the game with just over two minutes left in regulation. Ontario notched the win when former Steelhead Geoff Irwin lit the lamp in extra time.
With the series tied at 1-1, the teams will now play the remainder of the five game set in Ontario, starting on Friday night.
