BOISE-- In front of a sellout crowd on Friday night, the Idaho Steelheads scored two unanswered goals in the third period to secure a 3-2 win over Utah and notch their second straight win.
The Grizzlies started the scoring off in the first period, but Idaho countered with a game-tying goal in the second when Chris Hepp got a wrist shot through a crowd that found the net. The score was Hepp's first professional goal. Utah took the lead back late in the second when Mitch Wahl scored on a power play.
The home team did not go away in the third period though. The Steelheads tied the game yet again on a Jacob Cepis backhand goal just three minutes into the final period of play. Cepis also scored the eventual game-winner on a breakaway, backhanded goal that went through the goalies' legs.
The game was played in front of 5,321 fans, the largest crowd on hand at CenturyLink Arena this season.
The same two teams will hit the road for two more match ups in Utah, starting on Saturday.
