BOISE --    The Idaho Stampede getting ready to kick off their season.

They're looking at some of the best basketball talent in the area, as head coach Michael Peck along with the Trail Blazers held tryouts for the Stampede.

It wasn't exactly open to everyone, all of the players at the tryouts have some serious college playing experience.

Five of them former Broncos in Reggie Larry, Jason Ellis, Wes Perryman, Anthony Thomas, and Aaron Gardener.

The Blazers and Stampede also held a tryout in Portland, but said that they wanted to look at players in the treasure valley as well.

"We felt it was important to have it in the community where we're based out of to see what kind of talent showed up and to see if we kind find any diamonds and gems in there, and some sleepers," said Peck. "This way you can look at and see a guy for a length of time and get a better feel for him as a player."

First year head coach Michael Peck and the Stampede still have plenty of time to train.

They open the season November 28 on the road.
