Hawks score four in the eighth, win on walk-off sac fly

BOISE--As has been the case many times this season, the Boise Hawks once again came from behind on Friday night, beating the Vancouver Canadians, 5-4.

The Hawks trailed by four runs going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but didn t give up.Jacob Rogers started the rally when he hammered a bases loaded single down the right field line to cut the lead in half.A wild pitch allowed another Hawk to cross the plate, and then Rony Rodriguez tied the game up on an RBI single to left field.

Jasvir Rakkar sat down three straight Vancouver batters to preserve the tie.

Carlos Penalver led off the bottom of the ninth with a ground rule double, and advanced to third on a Kevin Encarnacian single.Kris Bryant ended the game two batters later on a deep sacrifice fly to right-center, scoring Penalver to take the 5-4 win.

The Hawks have now won three straight games.They will host the Canadians again on Saturday night.
