Hawks reach double-digits again, extend win streak to three games

BOISE-- For the third straight game, the Boise Hawks scored double-digit runs, as the Hawks cruised to an 11-4 win over the Hillsboro Hops on Tuesday night. Tyler Ihrig improved his record to 3-0, only allowing two earned runs in six innings of work, while striking out six batters.

Offensively, Jeffrey Baez had a monster night, batting 2-for-4 with a homerun and four RBI. Rashad Crawford was 3-for-5 at the plate with three RBI.

The Hawks struck first in the opening inning when Danny Canela singled to right field, bringing around Crawford to take a 1-0 lead. Hillsboro countered with a two-run homer in the second to take the lead. But the Hawks responded with four runs in the fifth, sparked by a two-run bomb by Baez to left field. The home team added three runs in the sixth, and three more in the eighth to secure the win.

The Hawks will host the Hops again on Wednesday, with first pitch set for 7:15 p.m.
