MOSCOW - Horizon Air unveiled a shiny new plane decked out in blue and orange this week leaving many clamoring for a ride. Many -- but not everyone.

The jet features a blue and orange paint scheme, and a giant Broncos logo on the tail.

The plane touched down in Boise for the first time Tuesday - then quickly started cris-crossing the northwest on its regular routes.

The plane was set to fly from Moscow to Boise Tuesday -- and so was University of Idaho athletic director Rob Spear. But when he realized his travels would bring him into the Treasure Valley on the Bronco plane, Spear steered clear.

UI spokesperson Becky Paul says Spear went to the Horizon counter and asked to be booked on a flight out of nearby Spokane instead. She says Spear isn't showing disrespect to the Broncos - but said he wouldn't fly on the blue & orange plane until the airline adds a Vandal black & gold model to its fleet.

The Broncos and the Vandals hit the gridiron this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Boise in a highly anticipated rivalry game.
