The College of Idaho will meet Cardinal Stritch University in the first-round of the 2010 State Farm NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball National Tournament, next Thursday night at the Tyson Events in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Lady Yotes (21-7), champions of the Cascade Collegiate Conference, earned a No. 5 seed in Bracket 4, meeting the No. 4 seeded Wolves (28-2), champions of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, with tip-off scheduled for 7:45 p.m. (MST) – the final game of the first-round.

Cardinal Stritch, a 1,300-student school from Milwaukee, Wis., holds the NAIA’s longest win streak at 17-games and has not dropped a game since December.  Their losses have come at the hands of Bethel (Ind.) and Wisconsin-Parkside.  It is the Wolves 14th trip to the tournament, but CSU has a 5-13 all-time record at the event, including a 67-60 loss to the Lady Yotes in the first-round of the 2000 National Tournament.

The C of I will be making their fifth tournament appearance – having lost last year to this season’s top-seed, Hastings (Neb.) in the opening round.  The Lady Yotes have advanced to the national quarterfinals in two of their previous four trips – including advancing to the national championship game in 2001, losing to Northwestern (Iowa).

The winner of the Coyote-Wolves match-up will meet either Davenport (Mich.) or Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday evening at 7 p.m. (MST)
