BOISE -- Weather has thrown a wrench into the Boise State softball team’s plans Friday. They are hosting the SpringHill Suites Invitational at Mountain Cove Softball Field. Today’s action has been pushed back two hours.

With rain currently falling, the first game of the day between Portland State and Minnesota (originally scheduled for 10 a.m.) has been pushed back until noon. The Golden Gophers will then play Idaho State immediately after.

Boise State’s game against Portland State (originally scheduled for noon) is canceled, but the Broncos will still play at 4 p.m. against Utah State.

The Broncos and Vikings will try to make up their game March 27, when Boise State travels to Portland.

Playing their home opener, the Broncos (16-10) started off the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Minnesota on Thursday. Pitcher Aubray Zell (pictured above) scattered three hits and struck out 11 in eight innings of work.

FRIDAY’S UPDATED SCHEDULE:
Noon- Portland State vs. Minnesota
2 p.m.- Minnesota vs. Idaho State
4 p.m.- Utah State at Boise State
