BOISE -- Boise State junior defensive end Demarcus Lawrence was one of 22 players named to the Ted Hendricks Award watch list on Monday.
Lawrence is coming off a season in which he led the Mountain West with an average of 0.86 sacks per game as a sophomore.
Playing in his first season with Boise State after transferring from Butler Community College, Lawrence record a team-high 13.0 tackles-for-loss and 9.5 sacks in 11 starts in 2012.
The Ted Hendricks Award has been given to the top defensive end in the country for the last 12 seasons. An individuals' on-field performance, exceptional winning attitude, contributions to the school and community and academic preparedness are all taken into account to determine the winner.
Lawrence has already been named to both the Rotary Lombardi Award watch list and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list this preseason.
