BOISE -- Boise State runningback Jay Ajayi burst onto the scene as a redshirt freshman in 2012. After carrying the ball just one time during the first three games, he rushed for 118 yards on six carries in the first half against New Mexico.
Ajayi finished the season second on the team with 548 yards rushing to go along with four touchdowns. His 6.7 yards per carry were the most by a runningback in school history who carried the ball at least 75 times in a season.
Now Ajayi is set to take on the role of being the lead back.
