BOISE -- The Boise State men's basketball team (1-0) will face the Simpson University Redhawks (1-4) Friday at 7 p.m. MST at Taco Bell Arena.

The century mark is a meaningful mark in the eyes of the beholded hoopster.

Considering all the hype the Boise State men's basketball team this season, exceeding expectation would be a difficult task, but in the very first game of the season last Friday, they managed to do it.

The Broncos lit up University of Texas at Arlington for 116 points, the second highest total in school history. Anthony Drmic led the way career-high 34, as four other players chipped in with at least 13 points of their own.

One year ago, BSU led the Mountain West, averaging over 73 points per game, but given the experience and depth on this year's roster, expect the blue and orange to score more this season.

"I just think you know watching us at practice, it's just something we do real naturally and easy, and our offense has evolved over the last three years with these guys and they are pretty efficient in what we do and we can put a lot of point on the board and I think we'll have chances to be around that score again," said Coach Leon Rice.

One bit of news that might assist their scoring effort is the return of senior guard Jeff Elorriaga. The sharp-shooter sat out the season opener for precautionary reason after getting hit on the head in practice.

Elorriaga led Boise State with 84 three-point field goals made last season and ranked third on the team in points per game, averaging 10.2.

While Broncos are coming off the 116-87 win against University of Texas at Arlington, the Redhawks are coming off a 92-58 loss against Oregon Tech.

This game marks the first meeting between the two teams.
