BOISE - Former Boise State defensive end Shea McClellin saw his NFL draft day plans change drastically on Thursday.

The NFL announced McClellin was one of a record 26 prospects to accept an invitation to attend the draft in-person at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, April 26-28.

Originally, McClellin - a Marsing-native - planned to spend the weekend with his family and on the golf course.  "I just want to get away from the TV and not think about it," he explained following his pro day workout at Boise State on March 22.

But after continuing to impress scouts with his size, speed and knowledge for the game, this confirms that NFL teams are buying into McClellin's potential.

"I think so," said McClellen when asked if he believes he has improved his draft stock.  "Showing my versatile and that I can (play) both defensive line and linebacker" is the reason why he added.

While McClellin has opted not to discuss which NFL teams he has talked to, he did mention that "about half" have been in contact with him.

On Thursday, a source said McClellin flew out to spend time with one franchise and immediate hopped an plane to visit with another team when it was over.

Coverage of the NFL Draft begins at 6 p.m. MT on ESPN on April 26.

NOTES: Sources say that defensive end Tyrone Crawford flew out to visit with a team on Thursday.  Interestingly enough, Crawford and McClellin were scheduled to meet with the same franchise.
