HONOLULU -- Joe Southwick's collegiate football career is over.
Approximately twenty-four hours after the Boise State football team arrived in Hawaii for their bowl matchup against Oregon State, the senior quarterback was suspended and sent home by interim head coach Bob Gregory on Friday.
A Boise State spokesperson confirmed that both Southwick and redshirt freshman quarterback Nick Patti missed the Broncos' afternoon practice due to "team violations."
Patti has since been reinstated although no reason was provided.
The Broncos play Oregon State on Tuesday, Dec. 24 in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl. Boise State has won their last four postseason games.
