College of Idaho downs NNU in 201st Mayor's Cup

College of Idaho vs. Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho's oldest college rivalry.

CALDWELL -- The 201st Mayor’s Cup meeting between the College of Idaho and Northwest Nazarene is in the books. 

The Yotes (6-1) defeated the Crusaders (2-2) 77-53 in the oldest basketball rivalry in the state of Idaho.

The College of Idaho was led by true freshman Talon Pickney, who scored 19 points while junior transfer Aziz Leeks added nine points and 13 rebounds. 

As a team, the Yotes shot 43% from the field, making 29 of 68 shots.

Junior Maurice Jones led Northwest Nazarene with 14 points and six rebounds in the defeat.  

The two will meet again in Nampa on Tuesday, December 6th. That game will be broadcasted on KTVB 24/7, channel 7.2.

The Yotes are back in action Friday, November 25th, hosting Rocky Mountain at 7 p.m. 

The Crusaders will travel to Cal State East Bay on Friday, November 25th. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. MT.
