BOISE--  Facing elimination from the Northwest League playoffs, the Boise Hawks rallied from a one-run deficit to beat the Yakima Bears 11-5 on Tuesday night.

Down a game in a best-of-three series, the Hawks faced elimination going into Tuesday's contest.

The Hawks jumped out to an early two-run lead in the third inning, only to see that lead tied in the bottom half of the inning.  Boise again took the lead in the fifth on a Stephen Bruno RBI single to left field.  But again, the home team countered in the bottom half of the inning, scoring two runs to take the lead.

With their season coming to an end, the Hawks tied the game yet again in the eighth inning.  Known for their offensive surges, the Hawks lived up to that reputation in the top of the ninth with two outs.  Facing the last out of the inning, Boise exploded for seven runs to put the game away.  Jemeir Candelario led the charge with a two-run triple.

With the series tied at one game apiece, both teams will face off in a series-deciding Game 3 on Wednesday night in Yakima.
