BOISE-- Baseball may still be two weeks away at Memorial Stadium, but the Boise Hawks kicked off their summer on Saturday with the fourth annual Blues, Brews, and BBQ’s event. The event raised money and supplies for the Humane Society.
Spectators were able to get a taste of local breweries, local barbeque, as well as listen to local bands performing live.
“The theme is really the start of summer. So, let's have a fun event out here with some music,” Hawks general manager Todd Rahr said. “Obviously we like having fun out here at Memorial Stadium. But when you throw the Humane Society into the mix, doing a little benefit for them, it just makes it that much better.”
The Hawks start their season on the road at Eugene on June 14. Their home opener is set for June 17 against Salem-Keizer.
