BOISE-- The Boise Hawks gave up seven runs in the top of the eighth and fell to the Vancouver Canadians 12-9 in the deciding Game 3 of the Northwest League Championship Series on Sunday night.
In a game full of offense, the Canadians got on the board in the first to take a two-run lead. But Boise responded quickly and took a 4-2 lead thanks in part to a three-run lead on a Dan Vogelbach homerun.
Both teams battled back and forth in the middle innings, but it was the Hawks holding a 7-5 lead going into the eighth. The Canadians made the most of a couple of errors and walks, and came away with seven runs in the inning.
The Hawks tried to muster a rally, but came up short, losing the final game of the NWL Championship Series and ending their season.
