BOISE-- The Boise Hawks have hit a rough patch in their season, and have now lost three games in a row after falling, 9-3, to the Tri-City Dust Devils on Friday night.
It was the Hawk’s normally solid pitching that let the team down on Friday. Starter Trey Lang was chased out of the game after pitching just two innings. He gave up seven earned runs on five hits. The biggest blow came in the third, when Wilfredo Rodriguez hammered an opposite field, three-run homer over the right field wall. The Dust Devils scored six runs in the inning.
The Hawk’s bats were working in the second inning when the home team managed to score three runs to take a 3-2 lead. But after that, the Boise bats cooled down, and the Tri-City bullpen held the Hawks scoreless for the remaining seven innings.
The Hawks will host the Dust Devils again on Saturday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
