BOISE-- Former College of Idaho standout and Caldwell High School graduate Izaac Garsez made his Boise Hawks debut on Tuesday night, batting 0-for-4 in his first professional appearance in Boise.
The Hawks got plenty of offense elsewhere though, and piled on five runs to beat Yakima 5-0, notching their second-straight win. NWL Player of the Week Trey Martin led the way for the Hawks, batting 3-for-3 with a solo homerun.
Boise pitcher James Pugliese threw five innings of one-hit ball and struck out five batters to pick up his first win of the season.
The Hawks will look for the series sweep, hosting Yakima again on Wednesday.
