BOISE - The Vallivue Falcons beat the Centennial Patriots for the Girls 5A District Basketball championship on Friday night at Borah High School.
With just over four minutes to go in the game, the Patriots made a layup to get within one at 40-39. But the Falcons closed out the game on a 9-2 run, as they finish the regular season 16-7 overall.
With the win Vallivue locks up the number-one seed at the state tournament, which starts next Thursday at the Idaho Center in Nampa.
