BOISE-- The Boise State men’s and women’s basketball team each saw a player recognized on Monday, as both Derrick Marks and Lexie Der were awarded Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honors.
The Boise State men’s team won both of its games last week, with Marks leading the way. The junior guard averaged 20 points and six rebounds in wins over Nevada and Utah State. Against the Aggies, he scored 16 points in the second half, including the game-winner, and had an essential blocked shot to complete the comeback victory.
Der also led her Broncos to a pair of victories in the past week. She averaged 16 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins over Nevada and Utah State. She also recorded her third double-double of the season in the win on Saturday.
Both Boise State teams will face New Mexico this week. The men are on the road on Tuesday, while the women host the Aggies on Wednesday.
