BOISE -- The Boise State men's basketball team will face the Mavericks of the University of Texas at Arlington Friday at 8 p.m. MST at Taco Bell Arena.
This game marks the home opener for the 2013-2014 basketball season, and the Broncos are coming off a 80-52 win over Lewis-Clark State College in an exhibition game.
For the 2012-2013 season, the Broncos went 21-11 overall and lost to La Salle University 80-71 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Back in October, the Broncos were picked to finish in a tie for 2nd place with University of Nevada Las Vegas in the Mountain West Conference Preseason Media Poll. The University of New Mexico was picked to finish first.
This also marks the start of Coach Leon Rice's fourth season as Boise State's head coach. Since starting, he's seen steady growth in the pgoram, and it's a trend he is focused on continuing.
"You know it's hard to believe it's the fourth season already, it goes by so quick. You always say that, but then when you live it, it's wow that happened quickly. So you know your hopes are up for the season, and you built a lot to get to this point," said Rice.
Tickets for Friday's game start at $11.75 for adults, and it also includes a ticket to the women's basketball game against Southern Utah which will tip off prior to the men's game at 5:30 p.m.
Boise State Transportation and Parking Services will offer game day parking in the East Stadium lot and the Lincoln Avenue Garage for $5 per space. A shuttle will be provided from the Lincoln Ave. Garage, to shuttle fans to and from the game starting one hour prior to the game, and immediately following the end of the game.
