The University of Idaho will play in one of their most anticipated games on Saturday when they take on the 6th ranked University of Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The match-up is one Idaho fans and players have been looking forward to since the announcement of the game, but there's also one player who's exceptionally excited to be playing in his home state, quarterback Nate Enderle.
Enderle is from from North Platte, Nebraska, about 225 miles from Lincoln where the University of Nebraska campus is located, and grew up a Husker fan.
"There's not any pro teams and so if you want to root for somebody it's the Huskers so I was a big-time Husker fan," said Enderle. "But when I was growing up they were a option-rushing attack and I knew that wasn't my forte."
So Idaho was obviously a better fit for Enderle and Nebraska coach Bo Pelini knows about Enderle and the Vandal offense as well, and even though he's familiar with it he's still uncomfortable."
"I think that you have more history of what they are and what they like to do, but that doesn't mean you can stop it," said Pelini at his weekly press conference. "It means your challenges are still there. This is a pretty good football [team] they have some guys that can make plays."
The Vandals will have to make a lot of great plays if they hope to contend with one of the best teams in the nation on Saturday.
Idaho and Nebraska kickoff at 10:30 MTN on Saturday morning.
