BOISE--  The Idaho Steelheads were eliminated from the ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs on Sunday night, falling 2-1 to the Las Vegas Wranglers in overtime.  The Wranglers won tthe best-of-seven series three game to one.
In a hotly contested game, neither team gave up a goal in the first period.  The Steelheads were the first to light the lamp in the second when Ron Myers ripped a shot from the right-hand circle that beat Wranglers net minder Joe Fallon.
But the one-goal lead did not last long.  Adam Miller scored just seven minutes later to tie the game up at one goal apiece.
Both goalies kept the game on ice after that, and the two teams remained tied at the end of regulation.
In overtime, the Steelheads were on the attack, and had at least three good chances to score and win the game.  But Fallon was up to the task, and kept the puck out of the net to keep the game alive.  It was the away team that found the net at last when Judd Blackwater fed a beautiful pass to Eric Lampe on the left side.  Lampe fired a quick shot past a diving Jerry Kuhn to win the game.
As has been the case all season long, Kuhn was great even in defeat, turning aside 51 of 53 shots on goal.  Fallon stopped 34 of 35 shots in victory.
