BOISE-- Rookie goaltender Josh Robinson recorded his fifth shutout of the season, as the Idaho Steelheads defeated the Ontario Reign, 3-0, on Friday night.
Robinson turned aside all 30 shots that he faced on his way to his fifth shutout, which ties a team ECHL-era single-season record by Steve Silverhorn during the 2006-2007 season.
With the game scoreless in the second period, Jace Coyle broke the tie, firing a rebound slapshot that beat goalie Mike Condon top shelf to put Idaho up 1-0. The Steelheads added another goal in the third period on a David Toews backhader, and Austin Smith put the game away on an empty-netter to clinch the 3-0 victory.
Idaho will host Ontario in the final game of the series on Saturday night.
