After one round at the Idaho Open Nampa native Tyler Aldridge and Jesse Schutte of Florence, Oregon are on top of the leaderboard at 6-under par.
Their identical 65's at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle are one stroke ahead of Nicolas Travers of Boise who shot an opening round 66. Scott Loewen of Boise, Shane Mason of San Diego and Kevin Kim of Rancho Santa Fe, California are all tied for fourth place at 3-under par.
In the senior portion of the Idaho Open, Boise's Ron Ptacek has the lead after shooting an opening round 67. Ptacek played at the U.S. Senior Open at Sahalee at the end of July, but was cut after the first two rounds.
A total of 83 pros and amateurs took to the course on Wednesday for the tournament's opening round. The purse is $30,000 with $5,000 going to the winner.
The senior players in the tournament will conclude play on Thursday.
The rest of the field will play Thursday before the lowest scoring third finish up on Friday.
