BOISE - Over the last decade, we've seen the Boise State football team build itself into a national powerhouse, and soon it will have the facilities to match that success. As much success as Boise State has had, one of their big challenges has been overcoming sub-par athletic facilities.
Thursday is a day that will surely put a smile on head coach Chris Petersen's face though - a groundbreaking for one piece of that picture - a new football complex.
The conceptual artist renderings show that this place will be state of the art. They'll have a recruiting lounge for furture prospects, as well as a players lounge just off an academic and computer lab. Their weight room will allow the entire team to work out together now, and of course, they'll have blue turf inside.
As for a man who's success has really helped make this day possible, Coach Pete said when this facility is built, it will be as good as anything out there.
Considering that been the case with the team he's put on the field for quite some time now, this day is long overdue.
