MERIDIAN -- It's camping season for young athletes in Southern Idaho and these aspiring hoops stars at this HSB Camp are taking the rare opportunity to learn from Broncos like Paul Noonan and Janie Bos, and many professional players.

"We have Mike Harris of the Houston Rockets with us, on Tuesday all day.  At our next location we will have Felipe Lopez, NBA player, Ronnie Price is with us in Utah," said Camp Director Carson Sofro.  "It's pretty cool for the kids to walk on the court and actually stand face-to-face with a mountainous person and you really get to talk to someone who has walked the walk."

There's plenty of time in the Winter to work on plays with teammates... right now, It's all about honing their skills, and learning new stuff.

"We work on a lot more in depth work instead of just drills and plays." said camper Andrea Barnes.

Camper Alec Hetland agrees, "Learning new moves and different dribbles, it's just a lot of fun."

Another unique part about this camp is that a portion of the entry fees go back into the community, for example the YMCA.

Organizers estimate they've already given than $25,000 to Idaho youth athletics in the past three years, and they're not done.

"This year we'll give away roughly $30,000 to scholarships for kids to attend our programs.  Then all of the net profit goes directly back to the community." said Sofro.

The HSB camp for 2010 is over, but if you want to get involved next year -- , Camp Director Carson Sofro says they'll be back again next year.
