CORPUS CHRISTIE, TX -- Fifteen of Idaho's strongest high school students represented the state at the USAPL National High School Power Lifting Championships over the weekend.

Athletes from Lewiston High, Mountain View, Rocky Mountain, Skyview, Caldwell, and Columbia were the schools represented by Idaho.

Of the fifteen lifters thirteen placed in the top ten in their respective weight classes.

Columbia High's Jesse Norris took home the national title at 181 pounds by putting up a deadlift of 1802 pounds.  Norris is currently in first position in his weight class to be chosen for by Team USA in the Sub-Junior and Junior World Championships in Moose Jaw, Canada at the end of August.

Along with Norris, Sara Rogers, also of Columbia High School, is also first in line for a shot to join the US National Team at the World Championships.
