NAMPA-- Idaho native and professional bull rider Wiley Petersen was in the Treasure Valley on Friday to help promote the Built Ford Tough PBR series, which will be at the Idaho Center on Saturday and Sunday.
Petersen announced his retirement back in April, and will be honored during the event on Saturday evening.
"I thought it's probably time to pull out now before I get to the point where everybody is telling me I need to retire," Petersen said. "It was a tough decision but I feel like I made the right decision in the end."
Over his 13-year career, Petersen qualified for the finals 10 times, and finished the season ranked in the Top 10 five times.
The bull riding action will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, and will wrap up at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
