MOSCOW, ID. -- The University of Idaho Vandal football team has some vandals of their own they'd like to catch.
Someone stole nearly $3,000 worth of practice equipment from the team over the weekend.
The gear was in four large bags inside a lockup located outside the Kibbie Dome. The bags contained things like helmets, pads and footballs, but it wasn't realized they were gone until Monday.
Head football coach Robb Akey said he hopes to find the gear and whoever stole from his team.
"They were trying to make some extra money trying to buy season tickets," Akey said jokingly. "They shouldn't take it from the Vandals to come see the Vandals."
Akey said the gear is all stamped with Idaho logos, so it is bound to show up somewhere.
The Idaho Vandals started fall practice for the '10-'11 season earlier this month. They won the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise last December in the final seconds of the game with a two-point conversion, defeating Bowling Green 43-42.
