The first official week of the high school football season got underway on Thursday with three games.
At Centennial the Patriots hosted the defending 5A champs from Eagle. The Mustangs took the early lead on the amr of junior quarterback Tanner Mangum and nver looked back winning 42-25 over the Pats.
At Boise State a couple of Idaho's oldest rivals, Borah and Boise took to 'The Blue'. The Lions jumped all over the Braves in the opening half taking a commanding 21-0 lead. In the second half their defense remained solid and they added two more touchdowns to win 34-0.
In Caldwell the Tim Brennan era is off to a slow start as the Cougars lost to Post Falls 57-14. Caldwell is now 0-2 on the season.
