BOISE-- On Monday, the Boise Hawks arrived in Boise after months of Spring training in Mesa, Arizona. As has been the case in years past, the new players were greeted at the airport by dozens of supporters and host families.
“I'm excited to get going,” Hawks infielder Trevor Gretzky said. “You know, we were in Arizona for a couple months, and it was hot. But we're ready to get here and play.”
“I'm excited to get out of Arizona, I've been there for four months for Spring training,” outfielder Shawon Dunston, Jr. said. “We're ready to get after it here in Boise.”
The Hawks will open their season on the road at Eugene on Friday. Their home opener is schedule for Monday against Salem-Keizer.
