BOISE-- Summer is underway, and the proof could be found today at the Boise Airport. The Boise Hawks are back in town. The 2011 edition of the Hawks arrived in Boise his evening, and were greeted as always by dozens of fans and host families. It's pretty exciting. It's good to be back, I'm comfortable here," Hawks outfielder D.J. Fitzgerald said. "We've got great fans, it's a really fun place to play. I love the city, and the weather is also pretty great, too. Just the environment, everybody is here, it's almost like you're coming home. It's just trying to relax and get back to having fun."
The team is made up of players from all over the USA, but also has an amazing international flavor with players from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and even Tawain. Those who played here last year say they are happy to be back in Boise, a community that shows so much support.
The Hawks open the season on the road at Eugene on Friday. Their home opener is next Wednesday when they host Tri-City.
