INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Nampa native and Indy driver Davey Hamilton qualified for his 11th Indy 500, Sunday, in the 15th position.
Hamilton's average qualifying speed was roughly more than 225 mph during runs on Saturday.
Davey was able to survive Sunday, also known as bump day, at Indy partly because of his performance and also because of some poor weather.
"It was a great day, really," said Davey on Sunday. "I came in to today thinking that if I'm in the top-16 that I was going to be happy and I'm 15th, so I can't complain."
Qualifying continues on Monday.
Hamilton will be out helping promote the race nationwide the next few days.
