BOISE -- The Broncos (5-2) take on the Brigham Young University (BYU) Cougars (5-2) on Friday at 6 p.m. MDT in Provo, Utah.

The game will mark Coach Petersen's 100th game as head coach, and he'll be going for win number 90.

Coach Pete was asked about his time as head coach during his weekly news conference on Monday.

He said he doesn't really remember all of his 89 wins, but he does remember the 10 losses.

However, when asked if he has another 100 games left in the tank, he said, "Holy smokes. This is like the year in the life. I didn't know I was getting into this today. I don't know. I just haven't been like that.  In terms of what are our goals. We set our team goals. I think all those things are really important, but for me, it just always one season at a time. Go as hard as you can and then kind of re-evaluate."

Boise State's motto when a player goes down due to injury is carry the flag.  Step up, and take over for the injured.

Now, the flag is in the hands of junior quarterback Grant Hedrick from Independence, Oregon.

He came in in the first quarter of the game against Nevada Saturday, after Joe Southwick suffered a broken ankle.

The Broncos were a bit shell shocked in the first half, but Hedrick got the offense going and led them to a comeback win.

Now he's the starter, and brings different skills to the Bronco offense, and BYU knows it.

"And their quarterback came in, and man, ended up having a successful game. Not only running it, but throwing it, something like 18 out of 21, and ran for all kinds of yards. So, Boise is a good team with a good system," said BYU Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall on Monday.
