BOISE -- The Broncos (2-1) take on the Fresno State Bulldogs (2-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. MDT in Fresno.
The fourth game of the 2013 Bronco Football season could provide the toughest challenge the team has seen thus far.
They'll face a top-notch offense led by quarterback Derek Carr, who BSU head coach Chris Petersen called one of the best quarterbacks in the country. What's more, Carr brings with him a receiving corps Petersen has judged the most talented the Broncos played last season.
"We know that Fresno has a heck of team - there's no question about it," Petersen said during Monday's news conference.
How will the Broncos handle the challenge? Petersen says the team is still a "work in progress" and will continue to focus on the fundamentals of basic football.
But it will tough.
"We'll have to have improved a great deal from game one to where we are now for us to hang in there," Petersen said.
Add to that the teams' longstanding rivalry, and fans should expect an entertaining challenge. They'll also potentially witness history, as BSU attempts to hold onto the coveted milk jug trophy bestowed upon the winner each time the two teams meet.
In case you were wondering, tickets to the game are sold out.
