At the Cal Ripken World Series in Wilson, County North Carolina the East Boise U-12 team beat New Burn, North Carolina 9-1 to improve to 2-1 in pool play.
The East Boise club opened the scoring with one run in the second inning, three more in the third, and another three in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead before North Carolina could get on the board.
The East Boise kids added two more runs in the top half of the sixth to make it a 9-1 ball game and that would be the final.
East Boise plays a team from Oxford, Connecticut on Monday morning at 12:30 EST (10:30 MTN). If they win that game they should clinch a spot in the elimination round.
