BOISE -- Former Boise State golfer Graham DeLaet shot a 5-over 76 in the opening round of The Open Championship in Scotland on Thursday.

Playing in his first career major, DeLaet struggled on the back nine. Following a double-bogey on No. 10, he bogeyed Nos. 14 and 15 as well. His only birdie of the round came on the par-5 nineth.

DeLaet is currently tied for 92nd place. He has made 16 of 19 cuts this season including a career-best eight in a row. With at that in mind, he will have some work to do on Friday in order to advance into the weekend.

DeLaet will get underway in round two at Muirfield at 5:01 a.m. (MT) on Friday.
