BOISE - (Boxscore) The Vancouver Canadians rallied back from a six run deficit to beat the Boise Hawks 12-11 on Thursday night at Memorial Stadium.
With the Hawks (9-18) holding a comfortable 10-4 in the seventh, Rafael Diplan and Rockerik Pichardo were wildly ineffective in relief for Boise. The two combined to walk five Vancouver (15-11) hitters, as the Canadians sent 13 men to the plate and erased a 10-4 deficit.
After Nick Baligod's two-run single cut the Hawks lead to four, Carlos Ramirez walked with the bases loaded before Dan Klein's RBI-single made it 10-8. Shortly after that, Matt Newman scorched a pitch into the right-center gap to clear the bases, giving Vancouver a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Overshadowed by the loss, Boise connected for a season-high three homeruns. Marco Hernandez hit a two-run shot in the first, as Rock Shoulders followed with a three-run round-tripper later in the same frame. In the second the power surge continued. Designated hitter Gioskar Amaya led off the inning with his second homerun of the summer.
On top of that, Bijan Rademacher and Trey Martin each collected three hits for the Hawks as well.
Boise will be back in action against Vancouver on Friday at 7:15 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
