CALDWELL -- The College of Idaho men's basketball team ended a 16-game skid against ranked opponents with a 77-75 victory over No. 21 Southern Oregon on Friday.
With the Raiders (15-6, 7-3) holding for the last shot, Yote (10-10, 6-4) senior guard Rodney Delgardo fouled Southern Oregon junior center David Sturner with seven seconds left in the game. After Sturner missed both attempts, Southern Oregon was able to gain possession and call a timeout with two seconds remaining.
Off the inbounds pass, senior guard Taylor Roos tossed up a game-winning three, but it rimmed out as the Raiders lost for just the third time in conference play.
Freshman guard Curtis Brever scored a career-high 21 points for the Yotes on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor, including four three-pointers.
Junior forward Antonio Garrett also had a nice night for the College of Idaho, chipping in with 17 points and 19 rebounds.
The Yotes host Oregon Tech tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. at the J.A. Alberton Activities Center.
