CALDWELL, ID -- Caldwell native and College of Idaho outfielder Izaac Garsez was named the NAIA West Player of the Year, Tuesday.
The result comes from a vote of the nine coaches who manage in the NAIA West.
Garsez led the division with 31 stolen bases, nine triples, and he also had more total bases than any other player.
The Caldwell native finished the season batting .344, with 38 RBI, and eight home runs.
Izaac is the second Coyote in as many seasons to win the award. In 2010, his former teammate, Diego Robles won the award.
